Digitate Announces Results of Inaugural Autonomous Enterprise Survey, Reveals Redundant Tasks as Number One IT Operations Challenge

Feb 22, 2021 by iHash Leave a Comment

Digitate, a leading autonomous enterprise software provider, announced the results of its inaugural Autonomous Enterprise survey. Digitate surveyed leading European AIOps influencers in September 2020. The report aimed to better understand how Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled Intelligent IT Operations and automation are impacting IT Infrastructure, applications, end-user services for European companies, and the barriers that might be preventing them from realizing its full potential. Findings revealed 82% of respondents claimed the number one IT operation management challenge was having too many redundant or routine tasks. This was closely followed by 65% claiming no proactive capabilities to detect and correct system issues as the second biggest challenge, and 64% claiming a lack of flexibility to scale with business needs as the third biggest challenge.

With most organizations rapidly transitioning away from a traditional in-house IT infrastructure to modern and agile IT systems, the volume of data being created can be overwhelming. Traditional domain-based IT management solutions can’t keep up the pace of these rapid changes, leaving IT teams facing numerous challenges, such as infrastructure complexities, long delays in isolating and resolving IT faults and inconsistent and variable quality of operations. Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) has emerged as a cutting-edge solution for these IT operations challenges.

“Enterprises need to quickly adapt to changing business needs. One of the key findings in this study was the need and urgency for organizations to build predictability and faster problem resolution capability with AIOps. AIOps brings the agility and reliability necessary for future growth and transformation as the overwhelming amounts of data in operations are simply beyond human analysis capacity,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, CEO, Digitate. “Digitate’s autonomous enterprise software, ignio™, closes the loop, bringing adaptability, predictability, and simplification to IT and business operations and ensuring that the organizations maximize business benefits from their IT investments”.

Gartner predicts AI and Hyperautomation are going to be one of the key strategic trends for 2021. AIOps falls into that category and has several benefits for improving business-critical processes, including:

  • Removing manual processes (91% of respondents agreed)
  • Improved agility and reliability (82% of respondents agreed)
  • Better predictability (73% of respondents agreed); and
  • Faster problem resolution (73% of respondents agreed)

The report findings show a clear need for both IT and executive leadership teams to get up to speed with their knowledge and understanding of AIOps tools and technology and do that fast.

“COVID-19 has accelerated digital transformation for almost every industry, and AIOps is emerging as a critical business need for the digital enterprise,” Tripathi said. “Its potential business benefits are still not understood by many and there is a need for boardroom members and decision makers to understand the positive impact AIOps can make on their company’s balance sheet, compliance, customer experience and resilient IT and business operations.”

About the Autonomous Enterprise Report

To learn how organizations are using or looking to utilize AIOps in their IT Operations, in September 2020 Digitate and Corporate Leaders surveyed leading European AIOps Influencers. Also, in-depth interviews were conducted to further analyze the results and trends that were uncovered. The survey aimed to better understand how AI-enabled Intelligent IT Operations and automation are impacting IT Infrastructure, applications and end-user services for European companies, and the barriers that might be preventing them from realizing its full potential.
