Microsoft has revealed that despite its best efforts Apple isn’t interested in creating a Windows 8 app for iTunes ‘any time soon’, reports CNN. The company says nearly all major apps will be available via the new Windows 8 user interface by this fall; however, iTunes is unlikely.
“You shouldn’t expect an iTunes app on Windows 8 any time soon,” said Tami Reller, chief financial officer of Microsoft’s Windows division. “iTunes is in high demand. The welcome mat has been laid out. It’s not for lack of trying.”
Of course, users will still be able to download iTunes for use in “Desktop” mode; however, tablets running Windows RT, such as the Surface RT, are not able to run desktop applications.
